As a child, Tina severely burned her feet after accidently stepping on buried hot coals at the beach. From her foot injury, Tina created Foot Petals to help fill a gap in the market for women s high-heeled foot support. Foot Petals became a successful multi-million dollar company that was recognized as one of the 500 fastest growing companies in America . Tina has also been featured in Forbes Magazine as an entrepreneur to watch and was honored to become the 2011 National Latina Business Women Association's (NLBWA) Business Woman of the Year . In 2011, Foot Petals created an endowment fund through the Two Ten Foundation, focusing solely on scholarship for Women in the Footwear Industry (WIFI). You are the Master of Your Destiny

Being a female entrepreneur can be hard. Being an entrepreneur in general can be hard. From Stilettos to the Stock Exchange is the real life story of Tina Aldatz. When you first find Tina she is just about to meet with a group of lawyers and she is signing the legal paperwork to sell her multi million dollar business. A business she grew over the last 10 years from nothing into a 10 million dollars in annual sales. Tina recounts her excitement and experience while signing the paperwork, watching the monies transferred into her own bank account and then transferring the funds to her investors. At the end of the day she was left with 35% of 14 million dollars. Curious how she grew a company from nothing into something and was able to sell it? I was.
Chapter one starts with Tina just arriving in New York for her first day at Victoria Secrets. Being young (25 years old) and a first timer in winter weather she quickly discovered how cold, brutal and harsh New York could be. Her first day was rough. She experienced black ice and what it's like to walk throughout NYC in heels. Thankfully, this harsh first day did not set the tone for her time in NYC.
From Stilettos to the Stock Exchange is a fascinating read of how Tina navigated the fashion industry, her personal life, professional life and how she grew over the years. There are personal photographs throughout the book that help add a personal touch. I loved seeing pictures of Tina and her family throughout her journey. I really liked seeing a copy of her 4th grade artwork - she drew a picture of herself in NYC and didn't stop till she made that dream a reality. Tina worked hard to accomplish her dreams and she didn't let setback detour her. Her mother gave Tina a wonderful foundation full of encouragement, self confidence and perseverance. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is just starting out on the entrepreneurial path, raising children or graduating high school. From Stilettos to the Stock Exchange shows how one woman navigated the industry, worked hard and became a multi millionaire. It's a real life story with ups and downs, a story that shows us how our families influence us and help mold us at an early age and how no one can define you. You are in charge of your own destiny.

I'm so glad I read this story

I could not put this book down! If you are in the mood for an inspirational story that you can sit and read cover to cover then pick this book! Tina is so honest and real in her book. Her story is interesting, exciting and well written. I think it is an empowering read for all women even if you are not an entrepreneur. To learn her whole story from how she grew up, what she's been through, to where she is today is astonishingly uplifting. I felt so many emotions while reading her book, but most of all I felt inspired. This is the kind of book that is empowering to all women. It can give any woman in any walk of life the confidence to go out and conquer life! I'm so glad I read this story! I would recommend this book to anyone!
Side note: I have tried her new product line of Savvy Traveler wipes and they are amazing!!! If you are someone who flies frequently you have to get these wipes! I use them every time I fly and I don't know what I'd do without them! I used to bring baby wipes on the plane to freshen up during a long flight so these were right up my alley. They smell amazing, are individually wrapped, and make you feel great. She even has wipes for your electronics! If you are a germaphobe like me these will make you feel so much better! I wouldn't travel without them!

This is a MUST READ! I not only couldn't put it down once I started it, but I wanted more!! Tina Aldatz, will there be a part 2 to your story? I sure hope so because as a self-starter and "Serial Entrepreneur" myself, this was very insightful! I learned about business, about determination, and that even in the worst circumstances you can make your dreams come true! I laughed, I cried, I took notes...I was INSPIRED! Tina's life of turning tragedy into success is moving to say the least! I respect any self-made millionaire, especially one with a heart that gives back and never forgets where they came from. Kudos to you Tina Aldatz, a women, a Latina women, a pediatric burn victim, a domestic violence victim, and you STILL persevered! May this book be an inspiration to all women who have a dream to succeed! It's NOT a man's world after all :)
